The Palm Lakes Iglesia de Cristo has achieved what no other Spanish-speaking Church of Christ in South Florida has — their own building. But the road to that significant achievement was not an easy one.
In 2004, the Palm Lakes Church of Christ was a vibrant congregation with ministries in English and Spanish. Then a fire gutted the building. The elders decided to deed the building to the Spanish-speaking brothers, and like the phoenix, that mythological bird, the church rose again from among the ashes.
After four years of headaches and toil, the group was finally granted a occupancy permit. The inauguration service for the Iglesia was held over Easter weekend, March 21-23, 2008. Students from ACU helped hand out flyers and water bottles to publicize the event.
I praise God for the faithfulness and tenacity of these brothers! May God use this church in the middle of Hialeah to bring light to a dark world. He has truly turned their ashes into a crown of beauty (Isaiah 61.3).

Jim, I am so excited about what God is doing at the Palm Lakes Church. I appreciate your encouraging ministry with them. May God bless this effort with His power.
