A spirit of dependency is a must for missionaries. We must be dependent on God, and also on the partnership of churches and individuals who share a passion for reaching the lost. The Church of Christ at White Station (Memphis, TN) has been involved in our ministry for over 6 years. Our relationship began in 2002, when they became our sponsoring church in the Iglesia de Cristo en Memphis, a local Latino church plant. They continued their support when we moved to Miami in 2005. The WS Youth Group has served the Miami community on various occasions.
Last week, we were blessed to have Kerry Cancienne with us. Kerry is our mission contact at WS, and we were thrilled to let her see the work “up close and personal.” We visited a number of congregations, met with various preachers and families, and met the Preciado’s, the church planting team in Pompano Beach. Kerry was immersed into a Spanish-speaking culture (almost 60% of Miamians speak Spanish), and she did very well. She even developed a taste for Cuban coffee!
Thank you, Kerry, and thank you, White Station church!

Hiya, Jim
I found your blog linked from another.
I’m glad to hear about this new work taking off … it was great meeting you all last year during Spring Break!
